Cook today

Web Design - UX/UI
Project Overview
Cooking brings people together. This is an activity that can be really enjoyable. In addition, there is nothing more pleasant than hosting your close friends or family with a delicious dinner. What if technology can help us achieve these goals?
My Contributions
I wanted to design a website (the project was part of a larger project for my girl who wanted to create her culinary blog) that would allow a pleasant and seamless way to help navigate in the kitchen and find the right recipe for the right occasion.
The site should provide information for less advanced users and those who are more familiar with kitchen crafts. An important aspect was to have "Expert advice" and the educational part.
I had to start with the logo. We wanted to position the brand both elegant, and accessible.
I decidend that I want to visually cut off from all Polish cooking sites with thousands of recipes, in which the user from the very first look gets dizzy. After deep research on the market I went to minimalist logotype with a monogram based on two open circles. Circles are to evoke associations with kitchen objects such as plates, pots and pans. I wanted the logo to be memorable and easily identifiable regardless of nationality.

process
Large, appealing photos encouraging people to conquest the kitchen and simple navigation was the first thought. A clear and convenient search engine with the suggesting option or searching by occasions, available from every level of the page are the main features that guided me when thinking of potential users.

In the future I would also like to expand the idea with a micro smartwatch app that helps to cook dishes on the spot in real time with extra tips and tricks serving in the right time exactly when you need them.
